Photographer's Note
Please open in a new tab.
Today a collage of wildflowers taken near the spot on the Thredbo River in yesterday's photo. The areas in the valleys down a bit from the highest areas are a mass of wildflowers in November (Higher up the season is December/January).
On the top left is a photo showing the profusion of wildflowers in the area.
On the top right is a bossiacea (Bossiacea sericea).
On the bottom left is a yellow kunzea (Kunzea Muelleri).
And on the bottom right is a hill daisy (Brachysome Aculeata)
Because I was out walking I didn't have my specialist macro lens with me so was using a 28-300 lens with some macro capability.

Hello Ian Beautiful collage of flower photos. And you give the scientific names too! it is quite clear that Bossiacea is from the Fabaceae family. It looks similar to Cytisus scoparius (Scotch broom). Lovely daisies.
Well done!
Best regards Malgo

Hello Ian,
It is surprising just what good photographs are possible, even without a macro lens. You have achieved excellent details of these wild flowers, in close-up and you have presented them very well in this collage.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Ian,
walking through amazing landscapes as you showed it is probably easy to overlook details like these beautiful flowers. Good idea that you documented them as well, some of them are similar to common flowers while other are so very exotic.
Great series of photos,

Hello Ian, a beautiful presentation of the High country wild flowers.
It seems strange for us in the northern hemisphere to be seeing these flowers in November.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Hi Ian, good presentation of a range of flowers. Australian flowers tend to be small and delicate, needing a close up view to appreciate, which you've done well here. Showing us a wider contextual view too. Cheers, Steve

Hi Ian
A superb quartet of Australian high country wildflowers. I wasn't even looking for Edelweiss in Tyrol. Good colour, dof and sharpness. Tfs. Edelweiss looks like this:
