Photographer's Note

Winter has definitley arrived in Australia, especially in the high country. This photo was taken at 3 Mile Dam near Kiandra in the north of Kosciuszko National Park late afternoon as more snow clouds started to collect.
This (long) weekend was the offical start of the snow season and most ski areas had plenty of snow to celebrate.
Kiandra was the highest gold field area in Australia and then the site of the first ski areas in Australia but it didn't get enough regular snow so ski areas were established in other higher areas.
