Photographer's Note
After the Sydney meeting with Lisa, Ian, Colin, Dawn, Gus and Graham we had still one day so we went to Blue Mountains. as usual, I checked already at home where I would like to go. First, we took the train to Katoomba. It is nice small town with quite many turists wanting to see the famous Three Sister rocks. The best view of them is from Echo Point. I asked in a shop how we could go to Echo Point. - There is a bus there - was the answer. - And on foot? - It is far. - How far? -Two kilometers. (haha, don't Australians use their legs??) So we went on foot. At Echo Point again I asked in Visitors Centre what are the walks. - You can go along the cliffs. - And what about going down the Valley? -But it is far! Thousand steep steps!
We are old but ambitious so of course we took this Giant Stairway.
There were awesome views but maybe not for the faint hearted or anyone who doesn't like heights. The staircase is very steep but is a wonderful experience and we enjoyed it.
But it was not the end of a great fun. From the bottom of the valley one have three options to go up: the thrill of a 52 degree incline riding the steepest passenger railway in the world, the Scenic Railway, Scenic Cableway and Scenic Skyway. It was fun!!
Glide between cliff tops and gaze at the rainforest canopy through the glass floor of the Scenic Skyway!
Suspended 270 metres above ancient ravines, the Skyway provides a unique thrill as breathtaking views are revealed beneath your feet through the electro-glass cabin floor. For the less adventurous, seating and solid flooring is also available!
With 360° views, the 720 metre journey provides the best views of Katoomba Falls, the Three Sisters, and Jamison Valley stretching to the horizon.
The glass floor was really amazing and thrilling!!
After all this we had still some walk to the railway station. It was wonderful day.

Hi Malgo. I seldom go Wow! when looking at Australia's mountains but this photo of yours made me impressed by the scene in front of me. Wonderful POV which reveals the rock face and the trees in the foreground in great detail and with the Three Sisters and the range beyond, we get an acute sense of space and of vastness. The forest below is also sharply defined while in the distance the haze has created an enchanting land. Top work. Pozdrav. Klaudio.

Hello MAlgorzata ,
With the new maximal size of TE , we can admire more details in such landscapes views (even the picture is too big for my screen !) . And this landscape is splendid , famous , but especially beautiful under this light and this sky .

Bonjour Malgorzata,
J'aime beaucoup ce point de vue qui donne quelque peu le vertige tellement c'est impressionnant comme hauteur. On voit très bien les différentes strates qui forment la montagne sous une très belle lumière.
Amicalement

Hello Malgo,
There's nothing like getting really exhausted on your vacations. Who needs rest? ;-)
I once climbed an Indian mountain with 9 999 steps. I skipped only the last 1000, when I was high enough. I was younger then, and I couldn't face the alternative to be carried all the way. Some people actually prefered that.
Anyway you found a supreme view to reward you for your efforts (imagine walking 2 km, wow). The rocks are magnificent and the contrast of brown steep rocks and green slopes is stunning. It's well exposed with good contrasts among the clouds.
Kind regards,
Gert

Good evening Malgo,
Magnificent wild rural landscape, from the place chosen taking this, we see an impressive cliff "adorned" by the many trees on the slope, and rain-forewst at it's foot.
Long DOF in excelent view till far as the eyes can see. Light and clouds shadows mix fantastically.
Cheers,
Ike

Ciao cara IF
Hehehe I told you it was a long walk! I remember going on a 4 day trek through this bush land, camping overnight, and it is quite easy to never see another human face for all that time. Your photo is stunning, I love the rich reds and greens and you did an amazing job considering the overcast skies. You really are a hypo-puppy, I know this area well, so appreciate the huge climb and walk you achieved. You're amazing!
Un abbraccio
Lisa (IF - have just booked mine and LF's tickets - will send you an email)
