In rural Australia the mail is delivered by contractors. They often deliver other supplies as well. They tend not to drive up side roads so sights like this can be seen along main roads (yes - that dirt road is a main road!) where all the people up a side road have mail boxes at the intersection.
Some people go in for creative and colourful designs or use old cans from around their farm. The title of this photo comes from the mail box on the end of the row.

Those mail boxes may suggest something about their owners characters, each looks different and in some way an artistic venture's.

I have never heard of this before but then again I have always been a city slicker in Brisvegas! It stopped being a large country town in 1972. The diagonal adds dynamism. Good color and sharpness. Tfs!

Hello Ian, what an interesting collection of mail boxes; it looks like a quirky art installation.
I am surprised at how many there are.
Excellent presentation with the boxes on a strong diagonal line through the frame.
We also get to see some pleasant scenery in the background, all in sharp focus.

that is such a photogenic collection of mailboxes.
They are so nicely aligned along the "main road".
I suppose side road must be much worse...
It looks like a scene from a museum or yard of a collector of mailboxes.

Hello Ian,
An amusing photo. Mail boxes are often found like this along the road in Swedish rural areas as well, but they would almost certainly be uniform in design, size and height. These owners don't seem to worry about thefts, but they provided you with a good photo opportunity.

It still seems like a daunting task for the contractor to find out which correspondence should be dropped in which box.
These boxes are probably arranged according to house number.
Over time and much correspondence, the recipient's name may bring a certain type of letterbox to mind.
In any case, a very special photo.

Hello Ian,

What a novel way of saving the contractors valuable time, searching for individual houses!
Does one contractor serve the area?
Presumably, over time, he will become accustomed to which box belongs to each family; I can only see a number on one of the boxes would I imagine would help the contractor.

This is a unique photograph, and shows the details of the main road and green environment, too.

This photo that at first seemed so strange to me, after reading your note, it gives me a double surprise, first that the correspondence does not reach the homes and second that this dirt road is considered a main road.
The collection of mailboxes is one of the most diverse.

This close array of mailboxes wakes up some souvenirs of my youth as country boy! Indeed since my birth and until thirteen years old I new the freedom of the country side. We had a single box at each settlement, though.
That's why I appreciate so much this stunning row of colorful and varied shapes.
