Photographer's Note
The SF Pride Parade's "Dykes on Bikes" were followed by the "Mikes on Bikes", an ecclectic ensemble of men in funny outfits (or no outfits) riding bicycles.
This is another experiment with the art of panning. The cyclist was very close to the crowd behind, so I really had to blur the background to get separation from the subject.

I think you have perfected your panning technique, Sam. The blurry bring the extra dimension out that render an otherwise normal picture, extraordinary.

I am sorry Sam, but for me, this does not work. The sharpness of your main subject is ok, but the crowd in the background is nowhere near blurred enough for me. I think for this to work, you need to decrease your shutter speed dramatically. I see you shot this as f/16, but it does not say at what ISO rating. My opinion is that whatever the ISO was, it was too high. If you were at minimum, to make this work, I think you would have needed to use an ND filter. I think a tighter crop would help as well. Sorry, but this one does not work for me.
