So what’s the connection?

Today my wife sold my old Beseler 23C II enlarger and assorted darkroom equipment on Craig’s List. (Obviously, I haven’t used it for years and it was just taking up storage space.) Then she told me she wanted to spend the money going out to eat at a special restaurant- Herons, at the upscale Umstead Hotel on the SAS campus.

Herons, pays tribute to the finest North Carolina and Southern farmers, artisans and traditions thanks to its local, often organic, ingredient-driven cuisine, regional influences and time-honored Southern dishes. Indulge in favorites like Pan Seared NC Black Bass, Pan Roasted Le Bleu Rouge Chicken or savor delectable inspired spa cuisine.

So here you see the main course of my lunch.
Trio of Mini Burgers:
Kobe Beef Burger with Dijon Aioli
Dry Aged Burger with Cipollini Onion & Fig Marmalade
Prime Sirloin Burger with House made Bourbon Ketchup

She had Foie Gras, Gnocchi with lamb shank and foraged mushrooms.

For revenge, later in the day, I purchased a second digital camera and lens.
