Nymph Lake Rain:
Nymph Lake - Rocky Mountain National Park
Nymph Lake is one of a wonderful series of lakes one finds on the Bear Lake trail system. It is a small little gem only 0.5 miles from the trail head.
A sad (or wonderful depending on the day) truth about Rocky Mountain National Park is that in the Spring and Summer months one has roughly a 99.9999% chance of being caught out hiking in a thunderstorm if you are on the trails after the noon hour.
On this day Andrew and I had been another half mile up above on Dream Lake and had overstayed our welcome a bit ... and were hurrying back down to our car trying to keep ahead of the thunderstorm.
The mountain looming in the fog on the left is Longs Peak (elevation 14,259 ft - 4345 meters) the centerpiece of the park.

This is another beautiful scenery from you. I like this POV with great FOD that let us see the magnificent mountain in BG. I wish I can visit this place someday; seems so wild and peaceful. Thanks,

Hi John,
I noticed you had also commented on Shelly's (AROBN54) image so decided to check you out.You have a very nice selection of landscape images from your hikes with your son...well done. This one is nicely composed and I like the use of the tree at left to give a sense of depth. It is a bit dim but from what you said it was a "wet day".Lovely shades of green....take care.
Regards, David

Hallo John!
What a burnt sky! ;-)
You show here a really spectacular landscape in one of the possible weather conditions, which however involves a grey sky: rain! I like this atmosphere and the special colours in this special light. One can see a downpour up in the moutains in the background. Thank you for pressing the button - in spite of the weather!
Have a nice sunday!

Living in England and being an ardent fan of the wet English Lake District I can empathise but it is of course the wet weather that makes these places so verdant and beautiful (and insect infested!) This picture reminds me of the ELD though no doubt on a much grander scale. It shows both the beauty of nature in the foreground and its power in the descending background gloom.

Hello John -
Well done! My wife and hiked up to this lake several summers ago but we did it in the morning and it was not as photogenic. There are rewards for being out in less than favorable conditions but TStorms are not one of them. A nice composition with a nice exposure and acceptable DOF.
Thanks for sharing
John

hi John,
i don't know why i get a feeling of immense peace whenever i see your photos, may be because most of your pictures are not disturbed by the human beings..and may be its only nature with her eternal beauty.

Hello John,
This proves the weather doesn't nessecarily have to be good as the atmosphere here is very attractive for photography!
The fresh green colours are attractive, and can be found even in the lake...
Well composed presentation!
Greetings,
