Photographer's Note

Re-posted from a couple of days ago. Original had a larger frame and my "signature" in the lower right corner. The design looked pretty good in Photoshop before uploading but on TE the frame was overwhelming and my "signature" was way too huge. Thanks to Cobraphil8 for pointing that out and I agreed 100% upon seeing it myself. Here is a new version with a much more subtle frame. Oh, well, you try something new and if it doesn't work so you learn from it and move on.

There is a good reason coastal regions and boats are high on the list of favorite subjects and the New England coast, with its quaint fishing villages and infinite variety of boat designs, is like a toy store for the serious photographer.

"From 1800 to 1840 Nantucket was the "Whaling Capital of the World" and was the third largest city in Massachusetts. Today Nantucket Island is a popular tourist destination and is the summer home of countless artists and is only accessible by boat or by airplane. There isn't a single traffic light and cars were not permitted on the Island until 1918." Source:
