Photographer's Note
Location: Near Cascade Meadows above the city of Provo in Utah's Wasatch Mountains. The snow covered mountain in the background in known as Provo Peak. (Thanks Deeb and Robert for the info).
About the Photo: Several days ago this area was covered in snow! Summer is not even officially over, yet we have had a couple of really cold fronts here in Utah lately. I went up yesterday afternoon to photograph the leaves.

Ryan, great shot here. You have aptly titled this shot, the clouds make the scene.
It's too bad the clouds were heavy later in the afternoon, otherwise you could have got a shot to the north of Timp.
I am not 100% sure, but I believe that is Provo peak. Cascade peak would be to your left above the road.
OUtstanding shot.
By the way, with today's snow, the tops of the mountains with be covered with snow again, I expect some more great shots like this from you in the next few days.

Hi Ryan,
Such a beautiful mountain scenery with good clarity! Fluffy clouds make a very nice contrast with deep blue colour of the sky, while the vegetation has wonderful and rich early autumn look.
The only concern goes on the account of too wide black frame (but that's really only my humble opinion).

Hi, Ryan. Autumn is definitelky setting in. The colours in your photo prove it and they are wonderful. I like the grass in the foreground that gives depth to the picture. The snow-capped top in the background stands very well out on the sky which is beautifully decorated by these white clouds.

Wow Ryan! Long live polarizers :) The natural saturated colors are amazing and so is this hand painted sky. Perfect composition and perfect light. Forgive me all this awe, but I really love this one. Your low pov really dives me into the scene. Very good amigo!

Hi Ryan:
This is an absolutely amazing shot! I've lived in Provo nearly 4 years now and I've never been to this spot before. Wish I could help you on the name of the peak. The colors are fantastic, and you caught a perfect cloud formation. Everything about this photo is great. Thanks for sharing.

I have to join the others, I wish I was living in a nature-filled area like Utah, instead of Holland, so much space and peace of mind. Absolutely gorgeous, in composition and in lighting.

Hi Ryan.
Des couleurs vives, mais juste ce qu'il faut, et une profondeur impressionnante.
L'endroit est superbe et paisible, c'est reposant.
Ton vertical est judicieux et j'aime bien les différentes palettes de couleurs.

Hi
Your picture is gonna start a theme of colorful autumnal pictures on TE. Autumn is very generous for photographers, so let's use the chance this year.
Your sunny picture makes nice mood thanks to the colours of the leaves and the cloudy sky.
Nicely framed.

Very well done, Ryan--nice sweep from the close-in grass to the big sky and clouds. The colors blend together very harmoniously, which seems to be a hallmark of your shots. No single thing is greatly dramatic in the image, but when it's put together it's a work of art. Regards, Ken.

It's already Autumn over there? I'm sad I can't find those red tree woods here in Portugal.
As for the shot it's just beautifull, as usual. You are mastering the wide perspective of your Sigma, taking advantage of the wonderfull sky.
The use of the polarizer with 90º angle to the sun gave a very saturated sky (I don't mind the vigneting on top).
It's my eyes or there is a slight halo on the right in the transition to the sky? Do you think it's caused by the polarizer or not?
After a period of some doubts, I now find the vertical orientation very pleasing to the eyes.

Hello Ryan! Very nice in many regards. I especially like the layered composition with the strong sharp foreground grasses, the warm autumn colors in the mid part, and the nice mountain with some recent snow on it in the background. I think you exposed it perfectly as the high and midtones are all rendered warmly. And of course, it always helps to have and capture a wonderful sky overhead like you did :)
Great job!

Ryan,
It's Provo Peak. I think that you have passed Dry Fork and the Rock Canyon Picnic Area in this picture...and are closer to the back hills of the 'Y' mountain. Did you keep going on the Squaw Peak Trail all the way to Hobble Creek? This used to be one of my favorite trails...back when I rode a bike. I must get up there again soon.
Very nice picture...and as usual, very well done!

Great landscape & use of a WA lens.
I've had vigneting issues with a polarizer on the same lens, at 10mm. What focal length did you use here?
