Photographer's Note

Yesterday we looked at, Wild Florida. Today we find ourselves at the beach, Melbourne Beach to be exact. Melbourne Beach is approximately an hours drive South of Daytona Beach, and in my opinion, it's far more enjoyable. Fewer crowds, no one driving on the beach, no one hawking food or souvenirs, and it's just as lovely!

My parents are down, visiting from frigid, Ontario, Canada, and one place they always want to go is the beach. So, yesterday my wife and I packed up the kids, and that's just where we all went. In our picture today you see my 4 year old doing what he does best, playing! The title is misleading (I just posted it as a joke). We all had fun playing in the water. My son, as you can see, made a sport of trying to jump over the waves as they came to shore (not an easy task when you're 4). I think he did a pretty good job of it. He really was able to get well off the ground, especially as this jump was straight up!

I again encourage you, while visiting Florida, to seek out places off the beaten path and away from the crowds. You'll save a lot of money, and see Florida for what it truly is, a state rich in natural beauty.

I cropped and sharpened today's shot.
