Photographer's Note

Let's go back in time in downtown Los Angeles.

In the same block as my hotel The Biltmore was this charming bookstore on South Grand Avenue. I strolled by a couple of times enjoying the view in the window, before entering and asking for permission to "snap a couple of shots".

But evidently the proprietor was related to that janitor at the Bradbury building, as he morosely directed me back to the street. Not even through the door he allowed me a picture, so I had to go close to the window to get my shot without reflection - while he watched me with great suspicion.

On the other hand, I might not be the first entering his store without the intention of buying anything.

Post-process: Cropped; brightness +15 & contrast +10; resized; sharpened; framed and saved for Web.
