Photographer's Note
This is a big step for me...posting a color shot. This is just a stretch of road outside of the town I live in.
I have been inspired by Behrang (quantabeh) a ton to go out and make my normal surroundings beautiful. I started my quest of the small town with his images in my mind. Check out his stuff: http://www.trekearth.com/members/quantabeh/
I unfortunatly don't have his skill just yet, but I wanted to try a technique I have heard of. This is the result. It is highly Photoshopped but not out of "reality" IMO. See what you think

Post Processing:
I exposed one shot for the sky and one shot for the road and then combined the two together like a panoramic.
Then I used levels, cropped, boarder, sharpened, desaturated the sky, and increased the saturation +6ish yellow and red.

Nice composition! I was very impressed with the picture. I don't know, it has a nice ambiance to it. It is sad to know that I am not looking at an original picture but when you think about it you created an beautifull image.. bravo

Brady,
I am really flattered... thanks man! that means much to me.
As you have noticed, I really love the country roads, and I just think there is really much to explore out there, as you are finding out now. I enjoy camping and exploring the nature and all that comes with it. This is a really well composed shot. I still think the colors can come out a bit more vibrantly, but I like it a lot.
once again, thanks a lot... I wanna see more of your work.

Really nice shot. I like the autumn yellow colour which is quite dominant in this shot through the grass as well as the line marking on the road.

Very good shot. I love the effect of depth which is created by the road. Also the sky looks great.

This shot really makes you wonder what's off there in the distance. I'm also amazed at the grass and how yellow it is at this time of the year. Over here I guess things are a lot wetter.
I think the sky is beautiful and shapes work well with the lines of the road and telegraph poles. I think there are probably some other images in here and have done a workshop aiming to accentuate the perspective which I hope you find interesting.

Hey Brady,
The technique you've used works very well, so I think I'll have a try. The colours here are great, you should post some more colour work.

brady. astoundingly successful first try. wow. and your note about how to get there is great as well. i often struggle with blowing out the sky when i expose for the subject. i'm going to have to try this... which means i'm going to have to try taking my tripod with me. love it. wish i could give it 10 points.
