Photographer's Note

This is the handicap access fishing deck along Dry Run Creek at the Norfork National Fish Hatchery below the Norfork Dam.
Except when it rains, all of the water in the creek comes from the fish hatchery which gets its water from Lake Norfork.
Dry Run Creek is a catch and release area only open to anglers sixteen and younger, and those with handicaps. Only barbless hooks and artificial lures are allowed. It is a great place to introduce a youngster to trout fishing though, and fish worthy of a picture are easily caught.
The deck extensions over the water are called "Cattle Catchers" because of their resemblance to the cattle catchers found on the front of train engines. The "Cattle Catchers" allow someone in a wheelchair to belly up to the rail and get close enough to the water to fish.
On a hot summer day there is a ten degree difference in temperature beside the creek compared with the normal ambient temperature found elsewhere, which makes being beside the creek a very pleasant place to be.
