Photographer's Note

The Nyala is a perfect exemple of sexual dismorphism betwnne the tw sexes as the male and female look entirely different, except for the thin white stripes along their sides. The female is chesnut in color and short-haired coat while the male is dark brown to charcoal grey with a long shaggy coat. The male also has horns and a mane along the neck and back. Nyalas are very shy and spend their days foraging in the southeastern parts of Africa in two to ten animals. Females will give birth to a single foal after a seven
months gestation.
