Photographer's Note

Last week there was an interesting art installation in Grand Central Terminal. It was called “Da Vinci of Debt”, and it was meant to bring attention to the cost of a college education here in the US, and the strain of college debt that often weighs down graduates for years. The exhibit included 2,600 actual diplomas that seemingly flew up into the air and swirled around.

There are different university systems here in the US, (city, state, and private), but even the least expensive options can be too costly for many students. Here are some tuition cost examples (not including books and housing):

City college (NYC): $7,500 per year

State university (NY): $10,500 per year

Private university: prices vary, but they are more than city and state schools, and the tuition can reach up to $65,000 per year

Almost every student will have some debt after graduating, and some are weighed down by serious debt for many years afterwards.

I am curious to know about university tuition costs around the world. What are the ranges in your own country? Thanks and take care everyone! :-)
