Green Ridge Forest

August 2 we drove through the rain that was originally predicted a day earlier, through the Amish Country in Pennsylvania, the Ridge and Valley Province of the Appalachian Mountains in Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia to Washington DC.
Despite the rainy weather a beautiful trip but not very photogenic.
In Amish Country we hoped to see them riding in the traditional buggy, but the only Amish we saw got into a large coach. An unexpected adaptation to modern life.
At the second stop we made a short walk to a viewpoint at the Green Ridge State Forest Headquarters. The visibility was too bad for a nice postcards of the green landscape.
That is why I choose for an impression with four photos of the trees of the forest, photographed in the same way as I sometimes zoom in on a facade of a modern facade of a skyscraper.
Unfortunately, my knowledge of trees is too limited to give you the correct names of the trees in the photos. The left photo of the diptych shows positively one relative of the oak-family.
