Glancing up, something that you can't help but doing as you proceed through this slot canyon, I spotted these eyes that felt like the spirit of the canyon was glaring down on visitors who coursed up its artery. Yes, it's anthropomorphizing the inanimate, but rushing through to meet a schedule, to say you've "done it"/"been there" seems to be against the nature of the place - one our guide/herder said was of peace and wonder before it was "discovered" and popularized.
