Photographer's Note

It is quite rare for me to get a chance to post a photo just a day after I shot it. It had been raining for several days in Fredericksburg, Virginia but, alas, as it cleared up, it unveiled a magnificent Tiepolo Sky.

The Venetian master painter, Gianbattista Tiepolo (1696-1770), painted canvases, walls, and ceilings, but it was his ceilings that raised him to immortality in the field. Here are silhouettes of bare trees against the backdrop of a Tiepolo Sky .

I shot a series of photos with my iPhone 6 Plus, all of them minor masterpieces. It is possible that I could have produced a sharper image with my Nikon, but I find that I am increasingly dependent on my cellphone's camera.

Warm regards to my friends on Trekearth.
