Photographer's Note

US Capitol

It's been over four and a half years since my last contribution to this website, but now, some three months prior to my tenth anniversary as a member and one month after my second meeting with fellow member Bulent Atalay (batalay) in Washington DC, I am returning with this photo taken in the proud capital of the United States, which I would like to dedicate to Bulent to thank him for the lovely afternoon my father and I spent with him, his wife and his granddaughter last month. It was our second meeting after the first one in Amsterdam in 2010.

The picture itself shows one of the most famous landmarks DC has to offer: the seat of the US Senate and US House of Representatives. After a guided tour inside, admiring the Rotunda and the National Statuary Hall and enjoying the coolness of the air-conditioned rooms, I took this picture in the summer heat outside. This is the east facade of the building, so not the one facing the National Mall.

Four and a half years is quite a long time, during which I have been able to take quite a number of photos. I hope to share some of them with you in the near future and to become a slightly more active member of the community than during the past four years.
