Photographer's Note

California's Highway 267 is a short route connecting north Lake Tahoe with Interstate freeway 80. Highway 80 continues westward crossing the Sierra Nevada mountains at over 7,000 feet at the infamous Donner Pass.
And just like the historical Donner Party unable to cross the mountains due to an early October snowstorm, it snowed here the next day.

Nearby is the popular Northstar ski resort which I have skied with my "skinny skies" (cross country skis).
