Photographer's Note

This photo is taken in Arches National Park during a springtime thunderstorm. These natural sandstone formations represent millions of years of geologic history in the American Southwest. Aches National Park is near Moab, Utah and is very remote. Although there is a good paved road in the park the formations are along well preserved trails and are worth the hike. The formation in this photo can be found in the Windows section of the park.
