Photographer's Note

Doesn’t matter how many times I have been here to this park, I have to stop and look at this Balanced Rock, to see mother nature work of art, it’s better than any sculpture can do. For those who have not yet been here, what are you waiting for? Are you waiting until it falls down, because it will come down eventually, just like some of the arches.

Balanced Rock is possibly one of the most photographed rock formations in Arches National Park, Utah. Balanced Rock is a free standing formation of a base with a large upright rock seemingly balanced on the top. The snowcapped La Sal Mountains provide a backdrop to Balanced Rock.

The light can be very harsh for photographing at most part of the day, polarize filter is a must since we can't be at all places when the light is good.

This post is inspired by Fulvio’s recent shots of Arches National Park. Take a look at his version of the balanced rock up close and from a different angel. Fulvio’s POV
