Photographer's Note
Minerva Terrace at Mammoth Hot Springs is constantly changing. My photo presents very little water seeping out of the ground as compared to previous images in the TrekEarth collection. Presently, the area is almost inactive except for a few hydrothermal features scattered sparsely. In any case it is still worth visiting since it is one of the world's best examples of travertine-depositing hot springs. And who knows, maybe hot water might start pouring out of one of the terraces tomorrow.
