Photographer's Note

to be on cloud nine - in a state of blissful happiness, that is - I need clouds, preferably like these on the northern slope of Mount Washburn in Yellowstone National Park. I hadn't had my "fix" of clouds for months now and was forced once again to dive into the dusty old files to dig out something that would help me survive these cloud-less months. needless to say, "nice clouds" was VERY high on my Christmas wish-list.

about the photo - our first day in the park, when nothing suggested that the next two days would bring snow, sub-0 (Celsius) temperature, wind and complete lack of sun. the cloud formations together with the patterns of forest on the slope of the mountain captured my attention, so here's the result.

RAW, ISO 200, 16mm focal length, pattern metering.
