Photographer's Note

Sorry that I have been absent from TE for several days but there has been a lot of administration related to our camera club's exhibition that will be held next month. So over the next few days I will be catching up with your recent posts.

I have posted pictures from Hayden Valley, Yellowstone before. Access to this large sub-alpine valley is not always possible in winter beacuse of strong winds and snowdrifts. However, the driver of our tracked vehicle was happy to try as the road was open. The valley used to be the route to Yellowstone Lake for trappers. The valley remains the habitat of several animal species including buffalo, elk, grizzly bears, coyote and otters. The picture always reminds me of an iced cake with tree decorations.

Best wishes from a freezing South of England (coldest March/April since 1964!
