Photographer's Note

This is the Columbia River Gorge, Washington State side. If you ever have a chance to drive on the Washington state side of the river, and not the Oregon side, which is interstate and busy and you miss so much of the beauty. This was a very nasty, rainy morning. Once again, I left early, in the dark, windshield wipers going, me alone, driving through the rain. What kind of a shot are you going to get in this weather? I turn and go down the windy, twisty, mostly deserted Washington road. Suddenly the clouds magically break, the sky opens, and here is this scene and a convenient turn-out for me to take it. Wow. I guess the lesson here is, 'Get out there,' even when we don't want to, and shoot. 'f8 and be there'. Well, maybe sometime f16. but anyway, just get out there.
