Columbia Center

With this photo I am saying goodbye to Seattle for now. It was taken on the evening of our last day in the city, when we visited Smith Tower and Canadian wildfire smoke still affected the skies over Washington State. This photo of downtown Seattle was taken from the tower’s observation deck. Smith Tower itself is the oldest skyscraper in the city, the tower you can see here is the tallest skyscraper in the city: Columbia Center (933ft/284m). I have showed this tower before, along with its closest neighbours in this photo.

Columbia Center (formerly named the Bank of America Tower and Columbia Seafirst Center) was completed in 1985. At the time of completion it was the tallest structure on the West Coast, but it has since been surpassed by three other tower in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
