A Place To Ponder, a photo from Washington, West

Photographer's Note

If there ever is a place perfect for that pondering moment, it would have, without a doubt, to be Lake Quinault. A nice sized lake, at the edge of the temperate rain forest on Washington's Olympic peninsula. The lake is pristine, with nearby mountains, yet open to the west, making for never-ending evening and twilight in the summer. Bring a book and read, get your Adirondack chair, and ponder. The sound of streams, water lapping at the banks, and birds will replace those of traffic jams, cell phones and jet engines.

This gentleman was a little camera shy, but appeared to enjoy his ponderous moments.

wonderful composition!
Colors are bright and sharp, the light is soft and charming! All talks about peace, silence...
I can almost hear the trees murmuring...

Dana, great capture, the light is perfect! Composition is also fine, as are the color and the detail but what you did with the light is perfect.

Hi Dana,
really a beautiful scene and perfectly captured. The green branches of the tree in the foreground are like an umbrella. And the gentleman adds a nice human touch to this peaceful composition.

Hi Dana,
What a magical place and how well you managed to catch its spirit!
On the technical side, what I would have tried to do is to double expose,once for the sky and once for the rest because the right side is a bit too light.
I don`t know, maybe it is just the contrast between that and the beautifull trees with the warm light which makes it so special.
