Photographer's Note

Washington State's Olympic National Park has a fine glacier carved lake 'Crescent', located about 17 miles west of Port Angeles, on Highway 101. At 190 meters (624 feet) deep it is Washington's second deepest lake, and known for brilliant clear blue waters, caused by a lack of nitrogen inhibiting algae growth.
Lake Crescent has popular nearby hiking trails for access to the Park's interior.
