Photographer's Note

A Panorama I have been waiting to share on trek earth, and perhaps one of the best panorama photos I have taken this summer. On the left is Mt Shuksan at 9127 ft, and on the right is Mt Baker at 10,781 ft. This is the most rewarding view that comes to you when you reach the top of Herman Saddle, with the Table in the center. This is a wonderful place on the trail to eat your first sandwich and fresh spring water and take it all in. Oh Yeah!!!

To tie this together with previous postings the lake that you see on the lower left is Bagley Lake which gives a clear view of where I am standing just west of the table. The anticipation of reaching the top of Herman Saddle looks like this with the table on the left and Herman Saddle in the center.

Once you reach this height the Chain lake loop trail takes you down hill towards Mt Baker where you will arrive at Iceberg Lake where I wished I could have cut that little tree that blocked the lake. As you can see from the large version the view up here is most satisfying for those hikers who crave the beauty of sub alpine beauty. All I can say is the view from up here is incredible. And yes there are more photos and panoramas to share from this hike. Enjoy!

A note on stitching. Recently I have upgraded to Photoshop CS3 which has a far better superior stitching feature than the previous version..CS2. The blending feature in CS3 did a marvelous job of stitching the sky together without any blending complications that always frustrated me in other stitching programs. Sorry for the lack of clarity in this large posting because of the 400KB limitation. I took 8 photos hand held and CS3 really came to the rescue on this application. Cheers!
