Photographer's Note
A stream on Mt. Rainer near Paradise.
I noticed this exact same shot posted here on TE, so its the only reason I posted, to give the same view, except on a cloudy day. With some blue sky we would see Mt. Rainier towering above.

It's a pretty spot, Matthew, it's not surprising we both chose to photograph it! I obviously did have the advantage with the mountain visible. When it's cloudy, I find it's often best to show as little sky as possible. That's easy if you shoot from some really low POV, like next to the creek, but that's not essential. This one was shot on a cloudy day, near the same location.
You have a lot of nice shots, but maybe this one didn't quite put across what you wanted. Regards, Ken.

Hi Matthew,
While I agree with Ken that a lower POV could show more of what's important and less of the cloudy sky, I find it very interesting seeing the same shot with the only difference being the weather. The mountain is almost completely invisible in your shot, and it's kind of intriguing knowing that there's something beyond but not being able to see it. The green grass is a nice contrast with the reds and beiges of the rocks and the gray of the sky. TFS,
Chelsea

Hello Matthew
Excellent POV and composition!
And I disagree with previous commentators that the sky should be cropped on a cloudy days. Sometimes it is important to show the sky in order to reflect the cloudy weather. And you have done it well, to my mind.
