Straight Forever - Endless Road
A quite typical view in the USA. You see a broad street going straight to the horizon without any single bend. Something that was quite interesting and new for me to see because in Germany, actually in most European countries, we don´t have this huge wideness. I took this photo near the Monument Valley, not the typical view with the famous rocks in the background (we had the wrong light for it and we had to go on to Page on the same day), but still a quite impressive one, I think. For this photo I used my polarizer, so I got an even bluer sky than it was anyway. I also did some PP on this photo, but not too much, most of it was already done in advance :)

I´m glad for any advice, hint or proposition, that could help me to improve my photography.

Hallo Jonas! Du machst mich fertig :)))) Jetzt wollte ich kochen gehen, so ein feines Dinner brauen ... TE ist vielleicht gar nicht so ungesund und ich kann leben von Bild und Text. Ja das ist wieder so eine Schnurgerade, man steht aufs Pedal und los geht's, immer geradeaus, guten Sound im "Cockpit", um nicht schlaeferig zu werden und hie und da ein Zwischenstopp. Die Wolken sind traumhaft, man floated mit. Tolle Arbeit made in Amercia by JS ... Barbara.

Hallo Jonas,
Ah, this is nice, i see that you also are impressed just like me by these long endless roads which seems to go forever in one straight line. I have seen them in many states, always took a photo of them because it is indeed something we don't have here in Europe.
The light is not that bad, it's harsh, but still with great detail and colour balance between the red and blue. The clouds are essentiel here, we both know that, so the final result is very good...

Hi Jonas,

Another classic shot, with just enough originality to make it very interesting. Here it is just the mere clarity and sharpness of it. The PP is just short of being too much, just right. A good job!

Pas besoin de lire le commentaire ou le titre pour deviner que cette photo a été prise aux USA tellement tu as choisi un endroit typique. Un POV exceptionnel qui nous place dans le prolongement de la route. Seul petit reproche, les nuages un peu surexposés.

ich bin auch ueber America gefahren...knapp 9000 km durch den Southwest...und das hat mir tierisch gefallen.
besonders habe ich diese unendliche Strassen gemocht...denn man brauchte bloss ein Auto und viel Rock n' Roll..um sich in einem Movie zu fuehlen!

ausgezeichnete Perspektive und Farben.

Hi Jonas, I returned from my journey to USA lately and I know what you mean. Specially in Germany which is so populated. In Europe the road has always some bend and usually there are some houses. In western states the roads are endless like this one. Splendid shot, with fine perspective and strong beautiful colours. Beautiful clouds and sky. Regards

So ähnliche Strassen hatte ich in der Türkei auch,abe nicht so gute Lichtverhältnisse.Toller POV und endlose Tiefe.Auch die kräftigen Farben gefallen mir sehr.

This neverending raod disappearing into the distance to one tiny point on the horizon is great and I like the yellow stripes leading us there. Nice deep colours and fluffy clouds.

Again a great shoot, this time of those endless roads i discovered for first time in USA like you.
As i said to mark in a previous post, you were always lucky with clouds, no to much but just enough. For my part i always got desperate blue sky from Death valley to page.
Now technically, pov is very classical but in this kind of picture the more effective, red ground, blue clouded sky, nor cars for a "alone in the world" experience so, sorry, not tips for improve your picture.
Now if you were going to Page, i hope you were to Antelope canyon, and if yes, i'm hurry to see them because i take somes amazing and i want to see what you get there.

Hi Jonas,

Here is a road which would make it possible to check the speed limits of our cars !!! But I suppose that, even on these desert roads, police controls must exist. Superb photograph of this road which seems without end. The polarizing one made good work on the sky, I like much contrasts of colors and the luminosity on this landscape. Cheer Jonas.

Wow, this is spectacular, Jonas. I have to say that the versions of Floydian or Waylim aren't better than this one. What a great sense of infinity. I found this kind of endless road in the Egypt desert as well and it's amazing. Superb realization with splendid colors. Congrats.

I was writing another critiques on your other shot with a person jumping up in mid air. Now that it's gone, let talke about this one. I love it, my favorite kind of shot, the endless road, many of my trip involved endless road, but it's great. I love just listening to music and watch the scenery goes by like movie clips. I never sleep in the car, not for one minute. This one you keep the record of what you see. The cloud is fantastic like it coming at you. So 3 dementional. Technically all is perfect. I love it. simple but stunning. Reminded me of my own shot at Monument Valley, except you have much better light and clarity than my.

I can understand why you stopped to capture this, I wonder what's the distance from A to B..!
Second, the sky is very attractive with the fluffy white clouds...

Yes, typical, but it is so effective and attractive that there is no sense considering the "lack" of originality a flaw. Great PV (of course!), but also great sharpness, clarity and colours! Everything looks gorgeous. Bravo!

We don't get such straight road in my country. Excellent contrast between the red earth & the polarised blue sky. Seen such toad of Arizona & Utah in some films & also reminds me of an 'Eagles' song. The clouds add that extra dimension to this picture. Good work!
