Photographer's Note

I mislabeled the date in my Country Boy Visits Big City travelogue. This was taken the day before I left, so it does not belong there. Just a note in case this didn't seem very New York-ish.

I was asked to write some scripts for the American West Heritage Center, a living history museum, and when I went to visit the site during its hosting of the Festival of the American West, I brought my camera of course. This girl and her sister were enthusiastically playing pioneer games and singing and playing their fiddles. They were such good actors in their pioneer garb and even their language, that I coudn't resist taking a few photos. This one has the backdrop of a canvas tent and flag, which I thought caused some really interesting light.

I really admire photos with people in them, so I'm trying to do more people shots; it is HARD!
