Photographer's Note
I have tried to capture the "feeling" and "emotion" of this autumnal scene. I envisioned it in black and white, because it seemed the strong colors were overshadowing the sensation of late afternoon light.
After looking at the image, I wanted to soften it to create some light blooms (on film halation) effects, and reduce the yellow and only promote the less saturated color values.
I used a 200mm lens to compress the sense of perspective. The Gimp provided cropping, scaling and finally reduced saturation and shift of color to look more like a heavily toned black and white.

Hi Dana,
I like the contrast between the "fluffy" leaves and the straight white trunks. It really looks like a painting!

It does indeed have that Impressionist feel to it, Dana. The colors and patterns are simple, rich, engaging. Nice work with the PP, too.

Very nice...I'm glad you have had a chance to get out and do some shooting.
