Photographer's Note
I-80 interstate, east of SLC. Shot from a small freeway ramp. Increased saturation of the sky wich was highlighted anyway, because of SLC underneath.

Elegant shot Eugene where the long exposure function very good with the overall light setting.

Amazing motion sensation Eugene! You managed to get a great shot with great colors and detail on hills and sky, in spite of the 30 sec exposure. Really amazing composition.

Nice tones, colors... mysterious mood. I like the little sign on the right side of the road. That's a small detail that breaks the monotony, that give a supplemental point of interest to look at.

Love the trail of light in thisone. It looks really intence. Nice detals on teh mountains as well, spite the short exposure time. I guess the light from teh road light up thos as well. Very nicely done.

Very impressive! I like the way the road is not going in a straight line. And what about the colors! Simple shot but very powerful. I like the snow too on the mountains, it gives an impression that the car lights (red, yellow and white) are melting down all that snow and creating a new path between the mountains.

Excellent shot! The mountains are a good start, and the road snaking between them was a great idea too - but a long exposure with the light trails? Brilliant :-D

Haughtiness! The long exhibition(exposure) is thought well because it allowed to get light of cars. The composition and the colours are excellent, I like very much.
Superbe! L'exposition longue est bien pensée puisque cela a permis de capter les lumière des voitures. La composition et les couleurs sont excellentes, j'aime beaucoup.

Great !... I'm dreaming of succeeding in taking such a shot.
The curve of the road adds dynamism, these lines look like a river.
Beautiful colors, also. It's completely different of similar photographs I've seen, because it was shot in the nature, and no other light or streetlamp is disturbing.

The flow of light... magnificent picture. What is excelent is that all the cars are not on the photo. It's purely lights. You was on a bridge to take the picture ?

Wow! almost like molten lava spilling out of a volcano. The curve of the road adds to this motion scene.

One of the photos I like most to do. It remembers me when I was a kid, didn't know how this traffic trails were done and they intrigued me much. I'll post something resembling this picture, but not as marvelous as this is.

Almost feel compelled to comment on this.... Very dynamic shot where everything works well. great colour in the sky, and the sharpness/clarity of the light trails is brilliant. The composition is just right.

Great shot, 30 seconds is a long time in photography but you've used it to great effect. Sky is also very good. Great shot!

I must say Eugene that this one is really facinating. Like the way the light is leading us through the picture, through the mountain, and because of the sky I expect that there is a big city behind all that.

Astonishing shot! We use to see those long exposure traffic picture taken in cities, but wath a good idea to take it on landscape like this. Excellent composition with the curves of the road and th mountains. Bravo!
How did you manage to put your tripod on such a tinny ramp?

Normally I wouldn't bother rating freeway photos like this one, however yours is much different with the mountains on both sides of the freeway. offering a superb contrast.

great !
the red lines, the white ones, the orange sky... very nices colors and composition of a very dynamic view. That's very original, and I'm particularly found of car lights by night.
And you used the f-stop very well in order to use a long time shoot, with a great DOF.

C'est frappant cette photo, on a l'impression que c'est Mars vient d'être colonisée par l'homme !
Et quelle composition, c'est vraiment parfait !

Simply excellent shot, you have done very well to get the exposure time just right, so that none of the lights are too much.
Brilliant, I wonder how many attempts you made before you got this one, or did you manage it on one go?

beautiful shot. The slow shutter speed has worked so well....The best part is the curve...and good exposure of the overall pictures.

Simply superb capture Eugene. Very sharp and fierce motion is captured well. And the silent inactive mountains with golden sky all perfectly blended in this picture.

Wow!!! What a shot!
It's very impressive. The color of the sky seems surreal.
I love the nuances of orange and red given by the lights of the cars. Good choice for the very long time exposure: we can't see any car!
Congratulations!

Bonjour Eugene,
Belle perspective ! Le bitume ressemble à un serpent tortueux et les couleurs des feux de voiture font résonnance avec la couleur du ciel...
