Photographer's Note

This photo was taken in Arches National Park, Utah. The little rock formations in the left of the photo are known as The Three Gossips, and the huge monolith on the right is known as The Organ.
I was in place well before sunrise just waiting for the first rays of sun to hit the rocks. But just after sun rose it disappeared behind some clouds and all the rocks where in shadow.
This photo was taken with color film (velvia) but because of the lighting it didn't turn out as I had hoped. I thought that it might look better in black and white. Using Photoshop, I desatured this photo giving it a grayscale look. Then in layers I choose a sepia photo filter, and raised the density to nearly 100%, which gave it its current color tone. Hope you like.
