Photographer's Note
Painted Hills is one of the three units of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, located in Wheeler County, Oregon.
The drive from Portland to this place is a sight to behold in itself. Upon seeing the hills, you can't help but get mesmerized with it's beauty.

Hi Cary
You are lucky to have this coloured landscape in front of you, with the light giving shadows. I regret that the fore front is too big (though it is interesting), I would have made some steps on the left in order to get a more complete view of the ridges.
Kind regards
Waylim

Hi Cary,
Painted Hills is a really wonderful subject and made famous by many people here on TE, Not too many people have a chance to visit. It is a bit out of the way, but I was here and really a wonderful place and wish to go back again. YOu manage the light well, The background is a little bit over exposed, but the hills is really beautiful with teh light shinning on it and the foreground of vegetation is really in good sharpness and contrast. This one is more like a painting. Very nice.
