Photographer's Note
I saw a beautiful picture of Mt. Washington with lupine in the foreground; I've been trying to get a picture like that since then. In 2009, the snow lingered late; on my previous visit in June, the road was deep under the snow.
In my many visits to My Washington, I've learned that the best chance of getting a reflection in Big Lake is early in the morning before the wind comes up. Anyway it was too late for lupine but I did get a reflection.
Mt Washington is a part of the Cascade Mountain Range, One of my earliest themes on TE. This volcano chain runs from Mt. Garibaldi in British Columbia to Shasta and Lassen in Califonia. Washington's are tallest with Baker, Ranier, St. Helens & Adams. Oregon has the most volcanoes in the chain with 17 cones; this includes the more famous Mt Hood and collapsed Mt Mazama which forms Crater Lake.

Bonjour Pat,
astucieuse utilisation des reflets dansants pour construire une symétrie bien pensée. J'aime beaucoup la douceur des teintes.
Regards.

Hello Pat,
The rocky crest and the summit remind the back of a gigantic animal which would haunt this lake. The reflection adds to this impression. A spectacular and interesting photo. Bravo.
Have a nice day

Hi Pat,
It's a fantastic landscape. Combining the mountain and it's reflection is generally good idea, but I afraid the large dark area in the middle does not work. Really a pity because I can imagine how great that looks in reality.

Superb landscape and great composition Pat,
the mountains stands out so well contrasting both with the black silhouette below and the luminous sky above. The tonalities of the dawn are enchanting and the reflections make the composition so balanced and appealing. It was worth while to get up so early to capture such a sight.

Hi Pat,
This one is a real stunner with the reflection of the famous mountain looking like fine architecture.
Love the subtle colors and muted details to this natural beauty.

Hello Pat
I agree with Kari that the middle part is too dark...you could have tried to bring it out in Lightroom?! But what makes up is the snow capped mountain & the lovey pink hue of the sky reflected in the water
Best Regards

Hi Pat,
Very beautiful sunset colors, I love the atmosphere and mood. I would probably crop the little bit of land in the foreground all together. It doesn't really do much to the composition.
