Photographer's Note

Nature Is An Artist

My previous photo was only an appetiser, because this picture shows the real Painted Hills, located in Central Oregon and considered as one of the Seven Wonders of Oregon. It is one of the three units of the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument and famous for the colourful layers of the hills, which were formed in different geological eras.

It was the end of the afternoon, almost 40 degrees (but very dry air) and there were few other visitors, as it is an almost five-hour drive from Portland and there aren’t any other cities nearby, which all made the beauty of the place even more mesmerising.

An additional photo is found in the WS.
