Stratigic Location, a photo from Oregon, West

Photographer's Note

Located in a stratigic place, overlooking the amazing crater lake. This bench is a bit tilted as it's on the long trail path down from the rim drive (which surrounds the lake) down to the lake, where you can get a boat drive in the water.
I tried the exersize of removing the middle tree that blocks some of the view, but then found the original looks better.

Wonderful point of view, Efi. I like this picture very much. The light is very well handled, the composition is excellent and you archieved a very good perspective with the bench on the foreground. Thanks for sharing this one.

Hi Efi - I knew from the preview photo that it has to be another one from Crater Lake. Great how you managed to combine your "benches" motive with the magnificent scenery of this magic place, it does look inviting and it adds a fine depth. I'm very glad you did not remove the tree; it belongs there and why shouldn't it be centered in your compo. The light is well handled, and the famous reflection on the deep blue water is delightful. Very nice.

Very well done,Efi,really this bench shot is great in your gallery and in this motif,unique,with a great playing with light and shadows,and very good use of DOF and taking a fine result with this beautiful depth/landscape.

interesting atmosphere here, this circle at the bottom is beautiful. Loved the composition with the empty bench.

This reminds me of a bench at the Henry Ford estate near me. It was a nice one, a little broken, but pleasant like this with a different but still calming and impressive view. When I went there last week I noticed they had removed it, though. The view here is quite impressive. Great, calming, color and an expansive landscape. Your point of view is great, too, really placing great emphasis on the bench as the focal point. The tree looks just fine there. It creates a nice diagonal path from the bench down to the lake and really focuses the path. Perhaps leveling the photo to the horizon instead of the foreground might improve it a bit. As it seems to all be falling to one side on the opposite wall. But then I think it would be odd seeing this on such an angle. Nicely done.

Excellent landscape. The dappled lighting on the wooden chair accentuates the composition. Good framing with the fir trees. The mirrored lake surface is also wonderful.

Personally Efi, your angle and composition is beginning to bother me. So is your preference of colors :) They are just so colorfully attractive enough for touristic reason;with a touch of sombre and solitude (the bench).NatGeo has pretty much this "style" when it depicts scenery. Color, angle and with an expression.

Une superbe vue sur le lac avec ce banc en premier plan et surtout une luminosité parfaitement maîtrisée.
La composition n'est pas en reste d'ailleurs.

Composition très originale sur un merveilleux paysage; je pense réserver ce banc pour pouvoir admirer la vue.
Parfait équilibre entre les ombres et les lumières.

Very original composition on a marvellous landscape; I think of reserving this bench to be able to admire the sight. Perfect balance between the shades and the lights.

The empty bench showing what a person sitting in it can see is a good way of taking photos, very suggestive.
I like the reflection in the lake of the mountains, very serene.
