Photographer's Note

Nevada's Caliente Station no longer serves passenger trains. It is a mission revival style design, built in 1923 to serve as a spur line on the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad between Salt Lake City, Utah and Los Angeles, California. It would later serve as a depot on Amtrak's 'Desert Wind' line until 1993.

Today it is protected by the City of Caliente and serves as its city hall, library, and art gallery.

Not far from here is my previous postings on the Cathedral Gorge, Nevada State Park.
