Photographer's Note

Early morning sun on Clements Mountain in Glacier National Park in Montana (USA) very near the Canadian border.

Clements Mountain is a glacially carved "horn" -- similar to many of the famous mountains in the alps (e.g., the Matterhorn) and very different from the mountains you usually see in the American West outside of Glacier National Park. This photo was taken from the Logan Pass Visitors Center, which is in the middle of the park. I liked how the shadow fell almost perfectly at the "base" of the horn. And one day I'll learn to start taking photos with a tripod.
