Photographer's Note
This is a shot of Upper Mohawk Lake (12,400 feet/3,780 meters) taken on a cool and wet morning, just before a rainstorm.
Early in the summer, there was still a lot of snow remaining at this altitude, as well as ice in the shallow lake waters. This shot was taken facing north, with the Pacific-Father Dyer Ridge serving as a backdrop rising just beyond the lake.
This choice of shot was partially influenced by the overcast sky. I opted for a more abstract composition rather than a wider view.
