Photographer's Note

This is a scene taken in the Maroon Bells Scenic of the White River National Forest.

Located about 12 miles from Aspen, the Maroon Bells area is known for its scenery including mountain peaks, wildflowers, and lakes.

This photo was taken at an elevation somewhere between 10,000 and 11,000 feet (between 3050 and 3350 meters) on the way to Buckskin Pass, and you can see the rich greens of the abundant vegetation in the summer months.

I used a polarizing filter to remove glare from the bright sun.
