Photographer's Note

This shot was taken from a little over 14,000 feet elevation at the top of pikes peak. I walked down the slope over quite a few sizable boulders to get this shot. I was more than a little winded from the thin air, but managed to hold the camera still with the aid of my trusty monopod. If you drive or take the tram to the top of the mountain, be sure to walk around the entire summit. There are quite a few interesting shots that you will miss otherwise.
