Early People 11,000 years ago
Some of the first people to enter the Sun Luis Valley and Great Sand Dunes area were nomadic hunters and gatherers drawn here by herds of mammoths and prehistoric bison that grazed nearby. These Stone Age people apparently spent time here when hunting and plant gathering was good and avoided the region in times of drought and scarcity.

Hi Zbigniew

I was here a couple years ago, arrived late in the night and camped on the first camp site. Woke up early in the morning and thought I saw a big mountain in the haze, but it turn out to be the sand dune. I was really impressed by the size of the sand dune. You have a really wonderful weather, blue sky white puffy clouds. Together with the green vegetation in the foreground, makes a very odd combination of sand dune, mountains and green environment. We used to see sand dune in the desert and arid environment. Excellent quality photo and good composition.

Hello Zbigniew. A landscape with a large depth of field. There are so many details to see. The cloudy sky adds to the scene perfectly. Very beautiful.

una una stupenda galleri fatta di foto scattati in luoghi dalle caratteristiche fisiche molto diverse le une dalle altre, ma , a mio parere, tra le ultime proposte, quelle scattate in questo incantevole luogo sono tra le più belle proposte e di esse questa mi piace più di ogni altra.
Caratterizzata da una composizione eccellente, anzi perfetta, mi piace anche,oltre che per il soggetto, per i colori, la buona nitidezza e la bella distribuzione dei piani.
Un ottimo lavoro per il quale mi complimento.
