Bathed in Gold

Fern Lake Trail - Rocky Mountain National Park.

The Fern Lake Trail is one of my favorite autumn hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. It starts through a thick aspen grove down a small road ..

Autumn Road #3
Autumn Road #2
Autumn Road #1

After that the trail turns into a small path following the Big Thompson River ..

Andrew and I rounded a corner into this thick grove along the path and sat down for a break. The canopy of Aspens was so thick that the golden leaves were acting as a filter on the light .. bathing everything in a soft gold .. wonderful place to sit for a while.
