Falling Under Snow

Alluvial Fan Falls - Rocky Mountain National Park

This is my second photo from this long gentle water fall ...
Here is the first ... perhaps despite the appearance this one is below the first one .. right from the base of the fall as it turns into a rushing creek ..

I thought the effect of the river falling under the snow was pretty interesting ..

In 1982 this area was the site of the Lawn Lake flood when an old dam up in the mountains burst. 3 people were killed and there was $31 million in damage.

The vegetation is just starting to return .. the area is covered with large dead trees and 3 and 4 feet tall baby trees.
