Photographer's Note

Mill Creek Autumn - Aspens framing the creek ...
Mill Creek Basin trail - Rocky Mountain National Park.

I spotted this image snapped this shot .. I was so pleased with myself on the way home .. only to discover a few nasty weeds blowing in the wind .. blurred in my exposure .. I finally spent a few minutes and cloned them out today.

This is my third image from our September 23 hike this year on the Mill Creek Basin Trail ..

Just to be redundant:
This is a quiet trail to nowhere .. mostly it just is a connecting route between some of the major trail systems in the park .. but a great place for Fall color. According to a ranger I spoke to this thick strip of aspens is here because early on this was the main logging area for the town of Estes Park .... the trees for the Stanley Hotel came from this area. The aggressive aspens took over but will eventually be naturally replaced by other species.
