St. Vrain Mountain Autumn
St. Vrain Mountain Trail
Indian Peaks Wilderness
near Allenspark Colorado

This high elevation trail... Elevation 8900 feet (2713 meters) at the trail head. .... is a place I have always wanted to catch in autumn. It is a quiet trail that winds in and out of Rocky Mountain National Park from the Indian Peaks Wilderness.

Andrew and I often come here in the summer .. it is a great place to escape the heat .. For some reason it took until last year for it to occur to me how wonderful these tall stands of aspens would be in autumn ... and that with the elevation it would change fairly early. Last autumn we visited but Andrew was upset and refused to get out of the car. .. but today he was raring to go. A wonderful day to commune with the universe among these tall trees ..
